Hongbo Zhang

MoonBit

Hongbo Zhang is the lead of MoonBit platform. He is most known as the author of the ReScript programming language, formerly known as ReasonML and BuckleScript. In 2014, he dropped out from CS Ph.D in Pennsylvania and joined Bloomberg L.P. as SS Engineer, transiting from academia to the corporate world. In Bloomberg, he played the chief role in the development of BuckleScript. In 2017, he accepted an invitation from Facebook to continue his groundbreaking work on BuckleScript, which subsequently evolved into ReScript. He also contributed to the development of Flow, Meta’s in-house programming language.
